Sacht et al. (2016) introduce a new system of tridimensional face motion capture through monocular videos. This technique captures the movement and the characteristic features of a face (wrinkles, expressions) to produce an animable model with an equal or superior quality that the actual binocular procedures. Various problems are found in the scan process: the light and contrast on the actor as well as the face occlusion by hair or beards cause artifacts. It is argued that the application also lacks of a method to recreate the interior of the eye and mouth.
This application may be very useful to me since I do not have the almost unlimited resources that a big company has. This application may improve my work results and would put me on a path to advance to a greater specialisation in motion capture.
